Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information)
Linking Cultures is a not-for-profit, non governmental organisation which specialises in organising educational tours for university students and educators abroad. Based in Ghana, West Africa, programs offered by Linking Cultures are aimed at projecting Ghanaian cultural and historical heritage to the outside world, through educational tours built around sightseeing, community services, lectures and interviews.

With Linking Cultures, you will have the opportunity to learn about indigenous Ghanaian cultures and customs by observing cultural dance ensembles, marriage and naming ceremonies, etc. You will also have the privilege to explore the famous Elmina and Cape Coast Castles and discover the roles caves, dungeons and forts played in the Trans-Atlantic slave trade. A canopy walk through our rain forest at Kakum National Park affords participants the opportunity to learn more about our floral species and the medicinal value they offer the local Ghanaian. A tour of the seat of the Ashanti Kingdom, the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, reveals the history of famous Ashanti legends, which are told with relics and artefacts from museum to museum.

And there is more. Linking Cultures advertises internship and volunteer opportunities for interested individuals and university students abroad and locally. We have established a base in Ghana, where university students and educators abroad can take short-term programs in West African Culture, History and Society. Owing to our many years in Ghana and the strong relations we have with renowned Ghanaian lecturers and professors, Linking Cultures hopes to organise these educational programs with the right calibre of faculty to suite every discipline or field of study.

So, is your university thinking of organising summer programs in Africa? Do you want to volunteer or intern in Africa? Are you interested in taking sometime off in Africa or does the thought of immersing yourself in some of West Africa’s most vibrant cultures excite you? If yes, then look no further. Think Ghana, Think Linking Cultures. Contact us now at info@linkingcultures.org.
